Columbia High School Mixed Team
CHS Ultimate is excited to field our first official mixed team.
What is Mixed?
Mixed ultimate is a gender-inclusive division of ultimate frisbee featuring on-field ratios of alternating 4-3 and 3-4 players (men and women) per point.
Key Aspects of Mixed Ultimate
- Gender Ratios: Teams typically play with either 4 men and 3 women or 3 men and 4 women on the field at a time. Governing bodies like USA Ultimate use specific rules (such as ABBA rule variations) to determine these ratios per point.
- Spirit and Culture: The division balances high-level, competitive play through the World Flying Disc Federation with a strong emphasis on community, inclusivity, and self-officiating.
- Competition Levels: Elite clubs compete across regional and national circuits, including marquee tournaments and world club championships.
